The American Folklife Center, at the Library of Congress, is a great and largely unknown resource documenting rural America and its many traditions. While trying to track down the exact location of the flue-cured tobacco barn on the cover of this issue, I contacted David Stanley, who said it was most likely in Irwin or Tift County, but the team of documentarians he worked with that summer covered many miles, and he was unsure.
